BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Prof. Carmelina Ruggiero, President and Scientific Advisor
Prof. Carmelina Ruggiero is Professor at Genoa university and honorary visiting professor at the University College London. Her main research interests include nanobioscience, computer modelling, bioinformatics, biomedical signals and nanoinformatics. Some current research topics cover genomics, proteomics, targeted drug delivery by methods and techniques at the nanometer level, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She was Founding Editor in Chief of the journal IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience from 2002 to 2007 and she is author or coauthor of over 400 scientific publications (click here for a complete list).
Prof. Mauro Giacomini, CEO and Solution Director
Prof. Mauro Giacomini is an adjunct professor of Bioengineering with the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering at the University of Genoa(DIBRIS). Member of the Centre of Excellence for Biomedical Research (CEBR) and of the board of directors of HL7. Recently, he was appointed as Editor-in Chief of European Journal for Biomedical Informatics. Involved with health information systems for more than 25 years, he has published over 90 articles in sector-specific journals and has authored more than 400 publications (click here for a complete list).

Roberta Gazzarata, R&D Director
Roberta Gazzarata formerly, research fellow with the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering at the University of Genoa. Her research activities involve medical informatics, with a particular focus on semantic and format standards. She has been an HL7 tutor for over two years and has authored more than 40 scientific publications (click here for a complete list).

Monica Bonetto
Monica Bonetto graduated in biomedical engineering in 2014 at the University of Genoa. She collaborated with the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and System Engineering of the University of Genoa, Italy and Department of Neuroscience, rehabilitation, ophthalmology, genetic and maternal child science (DINOGMI) of the University of Genoa, Italy. Her research interests include medical informatics and she is author of an article and a conference paper on this subject.

Luca Douglas Magnoni
Luca Douglas Magnoni graduated in biomedical engineering in 2015 at the University of Genoa. Then he became a research fellow at the Computer Science Department, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering. At the moment he is working for Healthropy S.r.l., where he is dealing with medical informatics.
Maria Eugenia Monteverde
Maria Eugenia Monteverde graduated in biomedical engineering in 2011 at the University of Genoa. Formerly, she was research fellow at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and System Engineering of the University of Genoa, where she set up the basis for her interests and skills. Her research interests are focused on medical informatics and she co-wrote articles submitted to international conferences on the subject.

COLLABORATORS

Norbert Maggi
Norbert Maggi, formerly a research fellow at the Department of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering at the University of Genoa, received his PhD in Nanotechnology working on modeling and molecular interaction analysis for drug design. His research interests include molecular modelling, computational biology bioinformatics, biomedical signals and nanoinformatics.


Alessio Cavagnaro
Alessio Cavagnaro graduated in biomedical engineering in 2019 at the University of Genoa. He followed an internship at the Department of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering of the University of Genoa, developing a thesis on Record Linkage in medical informatics. His research interests include medical informatics.
